Everest Base Camp Trek in Everest region

Everest Trekking

Everest TrekkingEverest trekking offers you great opportunity to have unique experience. The Everest area is situated in eastern Nepal. It is protected by the Sagarmatha National Park, established in 1976 with an area of 1148 square kilometers. The park is largely composed of the rugged terrain and gorges of the high Himalayas. Altitude ranges from 2845 meters above sea level (9,330ft) to the top of the world, Mt. Everest at 8848 meters (29,028ft). Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world, which is known in Nepal as "Sagarmatha" the goddess mother of the world, has long been the greatest attraction for nature lovers and trekkers alike. Solukhumbu, the heartland of the Everest Region and an integral part of the Himalayan mystique, thus provides a welcome destination for these adventurers.

Throughout this trek trekkers are overwhelmed with views of unbelievable peaks, Buddhist monasteries, and friendly Sherpa villages. Perhaps some may even have a glance of the Yeti! The local people believe that the Pangboche Monastery actually has in its possession the real scalp of this Himalayan legend. As we proceed slowly to allow for maximum acclimation, we will have plenty of opportunity to visit monasteries and sherpa homes of this region. Most of our Sherpa crew come from the Sherpa households of this area. Incredible views of Everest and the surrounding peaks are the inescapable fare while we ascend Kala Patthar.

When is the best season?
The best season for this trek is half of February to First week of June and September to early December.

Half of February to First week of June: From the half of February until the first part of June temperatures are relatively warm, 10° to 15° warmer than in the fall. Mornings are bright and clear with the air slowly becoming hazier as the day progresses. The rhododendron forests in springtime are spectacular, with color displays that are "Himalayan" in beauty. June is warm and green with many fewer people - the sense of solitude is much greater than other seasons.

September to half of December: September to early December is an ideal time for the best mountain views. The days are typically sunny and clear with moderate temperatures and the evenings are usually quite cold.

Note: July to August is the Monsoon period in Nepal. However, it is possible to do trekking in rain shadow area like Mustang, Rara, Dolpo, Annapurna circuit, Lantang valley, Everest base camp and Gokyo valley respectively.

HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP:

Explore Sherpa museum in Namche Bazar, Panoramic view from Syanbu-che EExperience Sherpa culture in Khumjung village- Visit Tyangboche Monastery and great views from Kalapatar and Khumbu ice fall views from Everest base camp.

Short Description of Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest Base Camp TrekThe Everest Base Camp trek is arguably the most famous trekking route in the world and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see some of the most breathtaking scenery imaginable. Nepal is a fascinating country and the trek gives an insight into the lives and culture of the Sherpa people. Our ascent is steady and well paced to best suit the acclimatization needed. Sunrise on the snow capped peaks above the Khumbu Glacier is an unforgettable sight from the summit of Kala Pattar. This trek is one for the lover of high places and those wanting to push themselves to the limit. It is a tough challenge and not to be taken lightly with generally well graded paths but some tougher sections along the Khumbu glacier.

From Kathmandu we fly to Lukla, and the adventure begins as we land at its tiny airstrip. We spend several days trekking through the homelands of the Sherpa people, among their villages and Buddhist monasteries, with distant views of Everest and neighboring Ama Dablam, considered by many to be among the most beautiful mountains in Nepal. A day is spent at Namche Bazaar, the bustling market town in the heart of Sherpa country, and at Pheriche a cluster of houses set among the high summer grazing pastures of the region. These rest days allow time to explore further and to acclimatize, an important factor in your enjoyment of the trek. Those who have fully acclimatized may trek to the Everest Base Camp but without doubt, the highlight for most will be the awe-inspiring views which unfold from the summit of Kala Pattar - the chaotic ice sculptures of the Khumbu Glacier, Nuptse and the south-west face of Everest itself. Not forgetting, of course, the personal sense of achievement that many experience at the end of their trek, when it is all over and we fly back to Kathmandu.

Everest Base Camp Cross Chola-la Gokyo Trek

HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP:

Flight to Lukla airfield- Explore Sherpa museum in Namche Bazar, Panoramic view from Syanbuche EExperience Sherpa culture in Khumjung village- Visit Tengboche Monastery- Grand mountain views from Kalapatar- Spectacular views of glacier from Everest basecamp- View the beautiful glacial lake view from Gokyo peak.

Short Description of Everest base camp/ Gokyo cross Chola la Trek
This trek gives you the grand tour of the famous Khumbu area. This is a strenuous trek leading to Gokyo Lake and over the Cho La Pass at 5330m leading into the Khumbu valley above Lobuje. The trail continues up to Kalapattar and then back to Lukla via Thengboche and Namche Bazaar.

With eight of the world’s ten highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains vistas. Trekking in the Everest area is an awesome experience, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures and traditions, colourful festivals and monasteries. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park. The story of the yeti is still a mystery and the legend lives on in the Khumbu.

Strenuous trekking is continuously rewarded with dramatic Himalayan scenes, including four of the world's eight highest peaks: Cho Oyu (8201m), Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8516 m) and Everest (8850m). Breathtaking mountain vistas are complemented by visits to Sherpa villages, homes and monasteries offering you an insight into the quiet but, culturally vibrant Sherpa way of life.

The following itinery is a suggested outline for a trek which covers the highlights of the Khumbu and the most visited places. Details may vary according to personal taste and time schedule. The schedule caters for tea house trekking, expedition style trekking where porters carry your tent and food, or a combination of both.

Critcally important though is to follow a proper acclimatisation process. This is so often hurried with dire consequences. This is a high altitude trek with considerable time sleeping at high altitudes.

After a few days of rest and sightseeing in Kathmandu you are ready to embark on the journey.

Everest Gokyori trek in Everest region

Everest Gokyori Trek

HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRIP:

Explore Sherpa museum in Namche Bazar, Panoramic view from Syanbuche EExperience Sherpa culture in Khumjung village- Ascent Gokyo Ri, Grand view of Everest, Choyu, Lhotse, Nuptse and Amadablam.

Short Description of Gokyo Ri Trek
This trek features the unbelievable scenery of the remote Gokyo Valley and its festival of beautiful turquoise lakes, moonscape-like glaciers, and stunning mountain vistas that include Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu - four of the eight highest peaks on earth! The 360-degree view from Gokyo Ridge is the best in the Khumbu!

The beginning of this trek is the same as hiking to Everest Base Camp. On the way, we'll stay two nights in the village of Namche Bazaar to acclimatize. Namche is considered the trading center for the Khumbu region, and people walk from as far away as Tibet every Saturday to sell their wares here. This is also the hub onto which each trail converges, so yaks and people compete for space in this amphitheater style city.

After visiting Namche, we’ll head up the valley leaving the usual Everest trail and following the rivers run off from the Ngozumpa glacier. After two days we will stop again in the village of Machhermo for another rest day and the chance to hike up Machhermo RI. Our Next stop will be the Gokyo Valley.

Your arrival into this high mountain valley called Gokyo is welcomed by a string of cobalt blue lakes that continue for the 3-hour hike to Gokyo Village, which sits at the foot of Gokyo Ri (18,300 ft) a huge black mound of rock and dirt. The next morning, you're invited to take the 3-hour hike to the summit of this black, rocky mound to witness the 360-degree Himalayan view offered only from this vantage point. The Himalayas stand like giants guarding the border into Tibet. From Gokyo Ri you'll see much more than Mount Everest -- there are magnificent views of many of the other 8000-meter peaks from here as well.
